Orange County Library System
Wednesday 11/26/14 was moving day #1. The branch is now closed, except for the Night Return Book Drop (24 hours) and the Drive Up Window (Mondays through Saturdays limited hours – closed Sundays, and Holidays). A small crew of library staff were on hand to serve customers at the drive up window, do our last little bit of shelving, and tag the public library collection for the movers to pack of for temporary storage. The movers arrived early to remove all branch furniture to storage. More daily adventures ahead!
The transformation of the West Oaks Branch Library to become the West Oaks Branch Library and Genealogy Center has begun! As of 9:00 p.m. today Tuesday 25 November 2014, the branch will be closed for our renovation. We will re-open in early JANUARY 2015. Many tasks have been scheduled to begin this exciting work. Although temporarily closed, the branch will be full of activity to relocate furniture and materials, install shelving, lay carpet, paint walls, and more. Some library staff will be working at other OCLS locations during this transition. Others will be busy planning for future programs, classes, events, and more. Keep an eye on this blog for ongoing information about our progress!
As a reminder, the Genealogy Collection will not be available effective DECEMBER 1, 2014.
During this time, materials may still be returned to the West Oaks Branch book return drop. For access to library services and materials, we have two locations to serve you:
Upon re-opening, the West Oaks Branch Library and Genealogy Center will offer the public full library service as well as family history research, tours and study visits, programs, classes and more! Features include FREE parking, open seven days a week, technology classroom, meeting room, and convenient location to SR 408.
