On May 9th, patrons of all ages came to the library to have fun and remember their mothers with family history crafts. Children designed family trees out of scrapbook materials, making sure to leave space to add photographs once they got home. Adults created beautiful vases, plates, and candle holders using repurposed materials like jam jars, tissue paper, twine and ribbon, and old family photos. This interactive program got the whole family involved in crafting while honoring their roots. Held the day before Mother’s Day, the event was intended as a way to remember moms. It ended up being a fun, lighthearted, and messy program full of artistic expression and familial love. Participants said they would definitely return for more family history craft programs.
